Hi Everyone! Sorry I have been blogging so infrequently. I feel that with Facebook and Instagram you are all quite up to date on my life. But it’s still nice to come on here and share a little more in-depth and show you lots of pictures. Today I’ll be writing about a trip I took in early September. My husband and I rented a boat with a few other couples and set sail around the Greek islands. It sounds very extravagant but Greece is actually an affordable vacation destination! The food and entertainment there are cheap compared to other countries. The one big expense is the flight, at least if you are coming from the US. But it’s worth it for the amazing scenery and perfect beaches.
The Mediterranean sea is the most incredible shade of blue and the water was the perfect temperature. We would sail a few hours each day and then park our boat in a marina and explore new islands.
We visited Nafplio, a beautiful seaside town where people from Athens come for the weekends.
There were lots of gift stores and galleries and I was inspired by the gorgeous handmade jewelry and ceramics I saw everywhere.
In Leonido we went on a hike to mountain-top fort that had breathtaking views.
Hydra was another amazing stop on our trip. This small island has no cars and all transportation is on donkey.
It was so much fun to reconnect with old friends. Even if you are not interested in sailing, I highly recommend Greece as a vacation spot. It’s safe, affordable (once you’re there, and especially if you go in the off season), the people are friendly, and most importantly for me, the food is great! If you can, go in September when the weather is still warm but the summer crowds are gone.
Now some pictures from back home! I took pictures during my weekly walks through Central Park as the seasons changed.
I also want to comment on all the current events recently. I’m happy to see that we as a society are no longer tolerating sexual harassment. As someone who has a daughter, I’m especially glad to see these changes happening now as she enters the workforce.
